Summer is rapidly approaching, which means our Wild Summer programs are starting to fill up! It’s an exciting time of year for us: seasonal educators file in from all sorts of backgrounds, we fill Marsh Sanctuary and Croton Point Park with dozens of kids each week, and we engage in all sorts of great themes that center imagination, skill building, and play.
If you haven’t spent summer with us before, you might not be quite sure what sorts of themes we offer. Below you’ll find a selection of our offerings and links to register. If you want your child to spend an amazing summer learning and playing, look no further! Rewild your summer with us.
A Note: Our programs run weekly from June 30th through the 22nd of August.

Forest Craft
Kids love games that focus on crafting, survival, and exploration. We think that video games that focus on these core concepts are great things to center in a kid’s brain–but we can do one better. Our Forest Craft program blends core concepts of the block-buster game that so many kids love with the opportunities of the natural world; focusing on foraging, crafting, building, and exploration in an exciting package.
Due to the immense popularity of this theme, we’ve expanded it to our Croton location for the first time! Register now before spots run out.
Hunter Gatherers v Stone age Tinkerers
We get a lot of families asking us to define and compare two programs that have been a cornerstone of our summer for years. These programs focus on the building blocks of our school and programs. Hunter Gatherers focuses on nature connection–teaching skills of foraging, identification, and creation. We combine plants to make sun tea, take nature hikes, and learn to integrate into the environment. Stone Age Tinkerers allows kids to manipulate their environment, carving tools, working with natural materials, and engaging in some of our earliest skills as a species. It provides a level of confidence that allows kids to feel like they have a bit of control in the natural world–allowing them to explore and understand it better. The combination of these programs covers the basics of existing in nature, and are a great pair of programs to show your kids!
Breath of Rewilding
Another program based around popular games, Breath of Rewilding uses exploration and fantasy to extrapolate the skills and play that we give our students every week. Pick up a sword, drink a potion, and experience the strange world of Hyrule in the woods and fields of Marsh Sanctuary. Our teachers get really into this theme–exploring strange plots and unique threats as we teach, play, and imagine together!
Summer Forest Preschool
A program that some families don’t know about are our Summer Forest Preschool sessions, which package our annual Forest Preschool program into bite sized summer sessions. Join us for two-week intervals of learning and play all summer with your child aged 2.5-5 years old. It’s a good way to start the transition to preschool in an open and short-term way, and a great program for parents looking to get their young ones out of the house.
Due to the popularity of the program, we’ve expanded our morning sessions. They’re still filling up quick, so register now!
