Yorktown Community Nursery School is a cooperative preschool that provides a quality education for ages 2-5. Our appropriately academic program uses play as the context for learning. Our NY State certified teachers encourage children’s learning and inquiry through interactions that aim to stretch children’s thinking to a higher level and instill a life-long love of learning. (Lunch Bunch and enrichment programs are also available.) YCNS is registered with the New York Department of Education employing State-Certified Head Teachers. YCNS fosters cognitive, social, emotional, creative and physical skills through active engagement in learning that is experienced as joyful, meaningful, socially interactive, actively engaging and interactive. Our program is aligned with NY State Pre-k standards, covering all the prerequisite Kindergarten readiness skills in a play based manner, the way young children learn best. Our NY State Certified Teachers plan thoughtful whole child experiences for our 2, 3 & 4 year olds classes.
