5 Great Fenced-In Toddler Playgrounds in Westchester County

By Kelly Fitzpatrick May 18, 2025

Looking for the best toddler playgrounds in Westchester County? You're not alone—this is one of the most common questions I get from local parents, so I’ve rounded up five toddler-friendly playgrounds that check most of the must-have boxes for little ones (and their grown-ups!).

These Westchester playgrounds are:

  • Close to parking
  • Offer shade
  • Have soft play surfaces
  • Avoid second-story slides
  • Are a manageable size
  • Offer bathroom access
  • Feature imaginative or unique elements
  • And most importantly—they’re gated or mostly enclosed!

Whether you’re planning a morning outing with your toddler or meeting up with friends, these parks offer peace of mind and playful fun.

🛝 New Castle Community Playground (Chappaqua)

This sunken-in playground isn’t technically gated, but the design makes it hard for little ones to wander off. There’s free parking, small structures ideal for toddlers, and a soft play surface. Bathrooms may not be readily available, so plan accordingly.

🛝 Gillie Park (White Plains)

Fully gated with a soft surface, this park features a charming little playhouse, swings, and easy street parking. It lacks shade, so bring sun hats and water bottles for warmer days. Bathrooms are available on-site.

🛝 Ryder Park (Ossining)

Recently renovated, Ryder Park includes a fun ship-themed structure, baby swings, nearby bathrooms, and a soft play surface. It’s not fully enclosed, but mostly secure for toddlers on the move. Free parking is a bonus.

This gem doesn’t get enough love! With a train theme, shaded play areas, swings, a soft surface, bathrooms, seating, parking, and a fully enclosed fence, it’s a local favorite for good reason.

🛝 Law Park (Briarcliff Manor)

While the playground uses wood chips rather than rubber surfacing, it boasts full fencing, shaded structures, seating, parking, bathrooms, and a brand-new toddler area. A big kid structure is nearby, but there’s plenty to keep curious toddlers busy on their side.

These five playgrounds are toddler-tested and parent-approved, offering safe, fun, and convenient places to play all across Westchester County. Whether you’re new to the area or just looking to mix up your routine, these spots are sure to become favorites.
